Kids vs. Adult Yoga

That’s a common question I get asked all the time and the answer is YES.

Kids yoga is NOT adult yoga.

Think of kids classes as seeds for a lifelong practice of yoga. We plant and water these seeds through practice, practice and practice.

My classes include highly motivating music and songs to engage children in movement and yoga postures. Kids will improve their self-regulation, gross motor skills, body awareness, focus, coordination, mental and physical strength, and learn to trust themselves.

Kids learn through movement.

I tell all my students “Yoga is a practice” and through practice, we learn to accept ourselves exactly where we are. This provides a level of confidence and success after class.

Aside from physical strength, all my classes include mindfulness activities, games and breathing exercises that can be applied to everyday life.

Through mindful moments, kids will learn to take a pause and reset their minds and bodies to the present moment, the only moment we have.

Each class finishes with a child-friendly “Yoga Nidra” and a guided meditation which allows children to use their imagination and reach a total state of relaxation.

So if you’re still questioning whether or not your child is appropriate for yoga, the answer is still YES.
